I learned an interesting lesson from my grand daughter yesterday.
We go through life trying to make our mark on the world, make a big splash, a lasting impression. What we forget is how important the stuff beneath the surface is.
When I got home from work, my grand daughter was visiting. What did she want to do? It wasn’t something big and splashy. She wanted grandpa to come out and collect worms with her. While we were collecting worms, I found myself telling her about how worms take decaying vegetable matter and turn it into healthy dirt that helps the plants grow.
This made me think. How often do we go through life and take for granted the things going on below the surface? How often do we overlook the great things that are happening that add value to our lives and yet we never acknowledge or appreciate them?
The next time you look under a rock, take the time to think about the wonderful world that is all around us and appreciate the unsung heros in your life. Maybe you’re one of those heros yourself and should just appreciate how great you and what you do are in this world. Makes me think about Freds.
Never apologize for who you are and what you do. It’s a great thing to be a Fred!
Have a great day!
Barry
P.S.
What am I thankful for today? I’m thankful for worms! I’m thankful for the water we have so much of in Canada. I thank God for the wonderful world aroujnd me! What are you thankful for today?
