Ok, that was to get your attention. I don’t slam Islam, only those Iranians in the article mentioned below. And I have to admit this is a bit of a rant.
I am a pacifist by nature. Even as a Roman Catholic, I’m a great believer in live and let live. I could care less what your faith is as long as you adhere to basic human principles. No kicking, biting, scratching, religious persecution, etc.
On Friday, September 30, 2011 there was an article in the National Post about a Christian pastor born into Islam who became a Christian at the age of 19. Iran plans to put him to death because their Sharia law dictates that he must renounce his Christian faith because he was born into a Muslim faith. Does that mean we should round up all Christians who converted to Islam and put them to death? I think not!
I’m a big believer in “turning the other cheek” yet I also believe there comes a time when you need to defend yourself. Maybe the answer is to be very careful who we let into this country and be sure that if it turns out they lied, the contract is null and void. Go back where you apparently believe in their laws.
Most people come to Canada to improve their situation. What on earth makes the bad ones think they have any rights here if they persist in bringing that crap with them!
It is my sincere hope that the people of Islam, and specifically Iran, let their leaders know that they want to be a part of this world. My perception is that they are like Hitler and just want to dominate.
Whatever happens to that Pastor, I know Christ will be with him and watch over him whether in this world or at the side of God.
Let our prayers be with him,
Barry
P.S. What am I thankful for today? I’m thankful I was born into a civil country and a family of the Christian faith. I’m thankful that I have passed strong moral values to my children. I’m thankful most Muslims are not like THOSE ones!
What are you thankful for today?
