In many of my blogs, I talk about knowing your Why and being true to yourself regardless of what others may try to tell you. Just recently I talked about filtering out the noise.
Whether you agree with his politics or not, it certainly appeared that Jack Layton was a true leader. In my opinion, he was true to his Why.
Even at the end, he showed leadership with the words he left behind. With some of his last words, he was encouraging his team and all Canadians to stand up for our Canadian values and be counted.
It’s a shame he is gone just when he appeared to be reaching that point in his life where he could be a great influence. Let’s hope that he is actually an even greater influence as he leaves us.
If you were to choose a current day hero, Jack Layton would be an outstanding role model.
May he rest in peace.

P.S. What am I thankful for today? I’m thankful I still have the opportunity to make a difference. I’m thankful to be Canadian. I’m thankful for my faith in God that gets me through this life.
