How often do we hear people say “some day….” and then life takes hold and some day never seems to arrive? Some day I’ll take my kids to see the Rockies. Some day I’ll start that business. Some day….
Our days on this earth are numbered. Only God knows what that number is.
I remember when I was managing in a retail store, staff were constantly coming to me for help with issues that either they should have been able to manage themselves or should have gone to someone else for that help. Eventually, I realized they were stealing my time from me and I would in turn steal that time from my family.
I devised a folder system for their requests that established guidelines and set expectations. I made it very clear that they were stealing time from me and that I needed their help. Once I did this, my staff understood how valuable time was and were far more respectful of not just my time but theirs as well.
Remember, time is our most valuable resource and the days are numbered. Treat every day with the respect it deserves and relish every minute you have on this earth.
Make it a great day!
Barry
P.S. What am I thankful for today? I’m thankful to be blessed with this day and whatever it brings. I’m thankful God blessed us with four wonderful children and a grand daughter so far! I’m thankful for all of the friends I am blessed with.
What are you thankful for today?
