A family member from out of town contacted me a couple of days ago asking us to support a business meeting she was having in our town. Wanting to support her, we agreed. It’s really important to support the hopes and dreams of a loved one, even if you aren’t particularly interested in their ideas for yourself. We need to respect that at least they are practicing the Slight Edge Philosophy. They are doing that little bit more than others are willing to do to achieve their dreams. Don’t steal them!
People who are willing to get involved in MLM or Network Marketing or Direct sales, whatever you want to call these companies, are typically your leaders. These are people who will think outside the box and go places where others are unwilling to go. Stick to your goals and dreams. The Dream Stealers around you will try to pull you down because of their own fears. They are afraid you will leave them behind. They don’t understand that although you are going somewhere different, there is still a place in your life for them, as long as they are not sucking the life out of you. Sometimes you may have to make very difficult choices in this regard. If you feel the energy being sucked out of you every time you are near one of these people, STAY AWAY! (At least limit the exposure to small doses so that you can recover from the experience.)
T. Harv Eker talks about this in Millionaire Mind. We grow up believing that the environment we were born to is where we are naturally supposed to be. Like the story in the Ugly Duckling where a beautiful swan believes he’s a duck until one day, he sees his own reflection in the water and realizes he can be so much more.
You can be so much more, you just need to see it for yourself.
Stay focused on your goals and don’t let others steal them.
You go girl!
Barry
P.S.
What am I thankful for today? I’m thankful that this girl had the courage to ask. I’m thankful I had the opportunity to meet a few new people last night. I’m thankful we got to spend some time with family we don’t see often. What are YOU thankful for today.
