I’m reading a book right now called Challenging the Myths of Autism.
What I find interesting is that many of the basic concepts seem to apply to virtually everyone I have ever met. Jonathan Alderson’s key message is that we need to take some time to understand what we see before making any judgements.
Maybe there is an underlaying reason for a person’s behaviour that if we just take some time to think, what appears to be odd may actually make sense once you understand what is driving the behaviour.
In trying to understand Autism, I believe this book goes well beyond that and can actually lead to better communication with all the odd balls (people like me!) in your life, not just the autistic people you know.
As a big believer in constantly working on the self, I highly recommend reading Challenging the Myths of Autism by Jonathan Alderson. I think he gives great insight into the human psyche that can help you understand the world around you.
Make it a great day!

P.S. What am I thankful for today? I’m thankful my daughter made it home safely from out west. I’m thankful for the wonderful time spent with my kids last night. I’m thankful for everyone who touches my life.
