Yes, I said Christmas and I won’t apologize for that!
It’s that time of year again and the parties are starting.
We need to remember that when you are at a party, you are being watched and judged whether you like it or not. First, it’s human nature. Second, they are usually a business event and although you shouldn’t be discussing a lot of business at these events, this is the time to learn who you are dealing with.
I believe most people are fairly forgiving and will ignore very small indiscretions but very few ever forget. As I have said before, you are writing the story of your life. Every incident at some point in time is just a story. Make sure you pay attention to the story you are writing for yourself. You are at a public event. If you wouldn’t want to see it in the paper, keep it to yourself!
Have a great time and let people know who you are and that you are human. Just make sure you understand the beast before you let it out of the cage!
