This past Sunday, the pastor came out on the stage with a set of noise cancelling headphones and a pair of earbuds. He used these to make a great point. The pastor made the comment “who you listen to affects what you do”.
He then proceeded to use the headphones to demonstrate. The earbuds allow you to hear everything. Even the annoying stuff. The noise cancelling headphones create a perfect environment where you only hear what you want to hear. Isn’t that similar to what we do in our decision making process?
With the earbuds, we hear EVERYTHING. The friend or family member who cares enough to point out the truth can be heard along with all of the other noise. All those people who are telling you what you want to hear instead of what you NEED to hear. The truth.
We hear this in our business all the time. Choose your associations carefully. Be careful who you spend your time with. Watch what you listen to. Because “who you listen to affects what you do”.
And what you do affects who you become.
Eventually, every point in your life becomes just a story and you are the author. You’re writing an epic story and have total control. What will your story be?
Always remember: “Who you listen to affects what you do”.
God Bless and have a great day!
Barry
