My wife is going out to a networking/fundraising golf tournament tomorrow. When I was in the finance business, there was a lot of that.
As a teenager, I remember they tried to teach us some golf at high school. I thought it was an incredibly slow and boring game. Then, when I went into the finance industry, I learned a whole new perspective.
For some, it’s about the game itself. For most, it’s about spending quality time outdoors sharing time with existing friends or making new friends. The game seems really dumb until you take the time to learn some of the skills and understand the subtle aspects like networking.
Kind of like most things in life isn’t it? We someone is doing something we don’t understand and we think it’s silly. Then, for some reason, we are exposed to the “why” of whatever we witnessed and what seemed stupid is suddently incredibly important and brilliant.
So, in my opinion, it’s important to understand what is going on beneath the surface before forming an opinion! “If you walked a mile in my shoes….”
Next time you see something that doesn’t make sense, either accept that you might be missing something or find out what is really going before you take any action.
Have a great day and enjoy whatever life offers you today!
Barry
P.S.
What am I thankful for today? I’m thankful the office was a little cooler today. I’m thankful I had food for breakfast today. I’m thankful that God has brought so much wonder and surprise into this world!
What are you thankful for today?
