Success is different for everyone. First, you define what success is for you. Then, you set your own pace. Fast or slow, it’s up to you.
What is success?
For some people, success is having a good job, a home and a family. For others, it could be a business generating a few hundred dollars a month to give their kids a little better life. Then there are those who want to achieve great things that are drastically life changing.
You need to decide what you want out of life. Decide on specific goals. You need a target to shoot for or your shots just go in all directions. What do you want and why do you want that? What is your path or vehicle? Who will you take with you?
Only you can define what success means to you and who you want at your side
Does success come fast or slow?
For some, success seems to be almost instantaneous. For others, it seems like it will never come. Fast or slow depends on you.
Fast
When you meet someone who seems to achieve sudden success, be careful with your assumptions. You don’t know what their experience is or what they were willing to do.
For example, someone in a MLM company that rises to great heights in what seems a short period of time may have gone through multiple opportunities before the one you met them in. They are actually someone who was willing to fail their way to the top. These people are the ones who learned early that it’s OK to fail. They don’t worry about what others think and have a strong belief in their product or service.
For some, fast is fast because they went in with no fear and just followed the example set by others ahead of them.
Slow
Is it really slow?
Maybe this is your first attempt at making changes. This can be very daunting and challenging. We tend to protect ourselves from harm at a very basic level that isn’t even conscious (I recommend reading T Harv Eker‘s Secrets of The Millionaire Mind). Many of us have to start with changing our habits and responses before we allow ourselves to be successful.
When you need to go slow, recognize that you are working to make yourself ready for the next step. Don’t be frustrated and give up.
We seem to hit plateaus that don’t appear to be periods of growth. You’re just not seeing your own development and you may believe that your sudden success is related to a particular activity. Recognize that ‘sudden’ changes are usually a result of the compounding of your efforts over time (I recommend reading Jeff Olson’s The Slight Edge). Accept that the plateaus are that time when you need to continue practicing what you already know as you develop new skills that will take you to the next level.
Your direction and definition of success are up to you. Once you make that decision and accept the challenges you are facing as part of your personal growth, everything becomes so much easier. It’s all about perspective. What do you see?
Make it a great day!

P.S. What am I thankful for today? I’m thankful for social media. I’m thankful for opportunity. I’m thankful for my faith.
What are you thankful for today?
